about
FU is an apocalyptic funk punk song written during a storm in New Orleans. Despite the fearful lyrical undertones regarding the future, there’s an optimistic disco bridge to shake out that anxiety.
No swearing is in fact used in the song, the title is just a reflection on our current times.
lyrics
Travelled months, years, to call a place my home oh.
Cracked soil, parched earth, nothing new will grow, oh
No help if you aren’t got money to blow, oh
Waiting for the buzz, voices turned to hush
Why bother? Just because.
Thrown in the truck with the hope of gold, oh.
Skin’s peeling a trail, melting heart in a mold, oh.
Loosen grip, eyes pop, mocking as they fail oh.
Waiting for the buzz, voices turned to hush.
Why bother? Just because.
Get up, take it on, crush the evil makers.
Sobbing at a sunrise, throwing tiny rocks.
Loving for a minute, laughing till we stop.
Makes it all so much, so sick of my shadow.
Get up, take it on, crush the evil makers.
sobbing at a sunrise, throwing tiny rocks.
We wait, we wait......
